Tabor Asset Management, LP was formed in 2018 by Jonathan Jacoby, CIO, with the belief that we can generate better returns with a similar risk philosophy employed at Millennium and UBS O’Connor. Our flagship strategy is a low net one focused on Consumer, Tech, Media, and Telecom stocks.
Tabor Asset Management, LP is named after Mount Tabor, located in Lower Galilee, Israel. Mount Tabor is the site of a famous biblical battle between the Israelite army and Canaanite army. The Canaanite army was much stronger, yet the Israelites were victorious because of their fortitude, perseverance, and confidence.
Tabor Asset Management, LP (“Tabor”) is a low net investment manager focused primarily on the Consumer, but also the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors. The 4-person senior investment team is managed by the PM, Jonathan Jacoby, who spent a decade previously as Portfolio Manager at Millennium and O’Connor (both are references). The portfolio is run low net (+/-15% net) with 90% of our short book in single-name stocks. Tabor has generated a vast majority of its alpha in its five-year history from the short book. We express ideas via 15-18 themes at any given time, each also run with low net exposure. We target T+10% net returns to our investors with a Sharpe over 1.
